A Quick Recap from this episode
This week is a really fun episode because I’m sharing with you the top things I would focus on if I had to start all over again in my money coaching business. I’m going to try to simplify my chaotic brain from when I started up and the years and years of building my business and making mistakes and streamline it for you if you’re new in your business or just need a reset because you’re ready to improve and refine where you’re at.
So let’s dive right in. Here are the five things I would focus on if I had to start over:
1. What am I selling?
The first thing I’d focus on is defining and coming to terms with what I’m selling. Create one high ticket and super high touch, high value offer. A lot of people are hesitant to dive into a high ticket program, and I bumped into that when I started out too, but here’s the thing: it’s just as hard to sell something for $100 as it is to sell something for $1,000. A lot of people know that in order to actually change, they have to really be invested and need that hands on support that comes with a high ticket program.
2. Actually do market research within my niche.
I say “actually” because I think we’ve all done those programs and worksheets where we map out who our ideal client avatar is. In some instances you might be asked to do market research, but for the most part people aren’t telling you where to go for this research and what questions to ask. This is why we go so deep into this in the Wealthy Coach Blueprint, because you need that valuable insight into your actual niche so that you know exactly what to create and are validating the market fit for your offer.
3. Being in one place when it comes to marketing and connecting with my ideal clients.
When I started my business all of the stories from every guru and the content marketing world was to be everywhere. You hear a lot of people talk about repurposing content to spread it everywhere because you never know where your clients will come from. It seems rational, but it completely drains you and it’s really hard to show up consistently in any one area. The trick is to validate (through market research) where your ideal clients actually are and where you can most easily be consistent in your marketing and your content.
4. Combining simple specific action with mindset work when it comes to selling.
Sales is a tricky game, and if you’re similar to me and considers yourself more of an introvert, sales can be such a scary thing. Yes, on one hand, there was a big mindset block there for me, but I don’t think it’s fair to chalk everything up to a mindset block. You need to combine visualizing or reframing your thoughts or any other mindset type of thing that you’re doing to work on your sales mindset with also actually taking action. Confidence truly does come from taking action and then realizing that it wasn’t as scary as you thought.
5. Get a mentor to help with keeping me focused and accountable.
I know this a little bit self-serving, but honestly getting help from someone is a privilege and feels like such a true act of self love and self care. Obviously you want to make sure that this mentor has built the type of business you’re building, has the testimonials or proof that you need, and is the right person to help you, but mentorship is such a great investment for your business. It’s so important for keeping you focused and accountable while also guiding you in the right direction and moving forward.
So that’s it! Those are the five things that I would focus on if I had to start over in my business. I hope that this helped you whether you’re just getting started in your money coaching business or just feel stagnant and need a refresh and a little help moving forward.
