A Quick Recap from this episode

Today we have a fun episode! Content is super important when it comes to marketing your business, your program, and your offering. You need to communicate the value of your offer and also help people resonate with how you’re going to help them. You do this through content.

Most people know it’s important to be on social media and create content, but have no content strategy at all, so they end up looking at what everyone else is doing and copying that. It’s impossible to stand out when you do this and you aren’t going to be able to serve your potential clients well.

Before becoming an actuary (what I went to school for) and ultimately becoming an entrepreneur, I had a bridge job working with a content marketing agency. That job gave me so much insight into understanding the world of online content and how to connect and convert with online clients utilizing all the different platforms.

I think the most important thing for a small business owner is not to be everywhere. It’s a huge time suck and gets you into analysis paralysis. You only need to be on the one platform where your ideal clients are hanging out and then focus on creating content that they like to consume on that platform.

Step 1: Identify the one platform where your clients are hanging out.

Step 2: Identify the format of content that works best for that platform and that your clients love consuming on that platform.

When you create these pieces of content that I’m about to share the process for, they really will work for anyone and any type of platform, but it’s important for you to know what and where your focus is before you go into creating them.

So how so we create 180 content ideas? Let me tell you!

1. Determine your content pillars.

These are the topics you repeatedly talk about and most likely topics that relate to the solutions that you offer to your ideal clients. A few examples: cash flow, mindset, investing, paying off a certain type of debt etc.

Once you have your content pillars, they’ll determine what topics you talk about. I recommend trying to come up with 4 different content pillars.

2. Determine that the types of content you create can create different types of emotions in your clients.

We look at the different fears, pains, and goals that your ideal client has around each content pillar. You can go through each pillar and tap into your ideal client (do market research!) to find out what’s really going on and how they’re moving about and experiencing everything.

Use these fears, pains, and goals as touch points that your content pillar would be the solution to. So you’re talking about the same topics over and over again, so that you’re top of mind for your clients on that topic, but we want to approach these topics in all kinds of different ways, which is why you have to dig deep into these for your clients.

Come up with 5 of each for each pillar (5 fears, 5 pains, and 5 goals). That alone should give you 60 pieces of content (5 of all 3 things = 15 x your 4 pillars = 60), so we’re already 1/3 of the way there!

3. Now take those 60 suggestions and turn them into content prompts.

You can take those 60 ideas and start building them out to create prompts for your content. I actually suggest building out your content ideas using different phases of the buyer’s journey. This is something I teach in the Client Attraction Content Matrix (so grab it if you haven’t already!)

The reason why we create them this way is you want to think about who just started following you vs. who has been following you for a long time vs. who is really ready to buy.

Once you take your 60 ideas and lay them over the buyer’s journey (3 phases), you get 180 pieces of content. How cool is that!

I know it seems daunting, but when you have a system and a guide to walk you through it, it becomes so much easier and you really can create 180 pieces of content in just one quick weekend. Are you up for the challenge?

If so, here’s what I have to offer for you: I create the Client Attraction Content Matrix to help you come up with content ideas and take it one step further and create content prompts for you so you can attract paying clients and take them through the buyer’s journey. It’s a mini course that introduces you to that and helps you understand the purpose and structure of content marketing and having a strategy.

In addition to the buyer’s journey, it’s also my content matrix, which is my proprietary tool that I offer to students in the Wealthy Coach Blueprint and that I personally use in my own business.

If this is something you want to get your hands on, so you can create 180 pieces of content in one weekend, then grab the Client Attraction Content Matrix now!
