This episode is for money coaches in general, but I especially believe that it’s going to be helpful to those of you that have already started your coaching business but are feeling stuck or like you aren’t getting the results that you want. If you’re feeling like you’ve tried everything that the business coaches and marketing gurus are telling you to do but it just doesn’t feel easy, then you’re not alone and I’ve got solutions for you.

Trust me when I say that I was right there with you. You’ve tried the funnel, you’ve put everything in place, you’re doing all the things, but you’re just not seeing the results and it all feels so complicated. I get it because I was you, and I felt the same way.

If you’ve been around for a minute, you know that sometimes I teach things that may seem counterintuitive at first, but work in the end. So if you’re feeling stuck and like you’re doing all the things, this is what I want you to do:

Stop.

I know that feels scary, but stop and pause (don’t quit, just pause). Take everything that you’re doing and get it out on the table. Jot down all the things that you’ve done in your business and everything that you’ve tried and get it all out there.

In our modern world, many businesses are teaching you how to build a business a certain way (on Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) so when you enter the business world, you feel like you have to be everywhere and invest in everything to figure it all out. Then you start to spin many plates at one time, and this is where people get stuck.

You can have all these different tools and strategies and tactics but people get stuck because they don’t know what’s working and what’s not. They just know that they’re tired and overwhelmed. When you have very few plates to spin, you know what plates need attention. You know what’s working and giving you the results that you’re looking for.

You have so many things going - the email marketing, Pinterest, LinkedIn, the podcast, etc. - that it’s hard to identify what’s actually generating revenue. You’re spreading yourself so thin that it’s hard to get anything off the ground.

Even though it feels like a step back to put the brakes on, it will be so much better for you and your business. You can take a step back, get your time and energy back, and evaluate what the end goal is and which outlets are actually going to get you there.

Protecting your energy and thinking about how much you have to give to the few and vital things that you should be doing instead of diverting your energy to all these different things, is going to make it so much easier on you to keep from burning out and to easily identify the data for where your energy and time is best spent.

So to combat this and get yourself unstuck, let some of those plates drop. Take a breath. Take a break. Even consider doing some research into which of these things are working. Figure out where clients are actually coming from and where they’re looking for you and narrow in on those things. Identify what you can let go of.

As you start to figure that out, get the traction, and get the results, then you’re ready to expand and add things, and you can slowly start to pick up a few of those other plates again. It’s hard to see what’s working or not when you’re trying to spin all the plates.

Stop spreading yourself so thin. Slow down to speed up. Let some of those plates drop.
